History of Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital

Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital was started in the late 1930s by Dr. George Dorney. It became fully accredited by the American Animal Hosp0ital Association (AAHA) in the 1970s by Dr. Peter Poggi, DVM.

In 1999, Dr. Martha Gearhart purchased the practice. Under her leadership numerous services, including acupuncture and house calls have been added to help us provide complete primary care. Dr. Gearhart is a Diplomat by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in the specialty of Companion Animal Practice. Both AAHA certification of facilities as well as ABVP boarded status reassures our clients that these facilities and the Medical Director's medical and surgical skills exceed minimal state requirements of inspection and licensure.
