Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital (PVAH), located at 18 Gretna Rd., Pleasant Valley, NY (the intersection of Gretna Rd. and Salt Point Turnpike) is holding an open house on Sat., 6/2 from 9am-3pm, open to the public, to reintroduce the practice after our building remodel. Dr. Martha Gearhart and the staff will be conducting clinic tours demonstrating our state-of-the-art equipment as well as to provide an overview of our practice focus – including geriatric care, specialized feline waiting/exam rooms, digital x-ray (including dental), acupuncture, myotherapy, cancer treatment and cardiology. The practice also boards and grooms animals.
The DCSPCA will be there to discuss their efforts on behalf of animals in our communities. They will have kittens and cats for adoption from 10-2.
There will be a therapy dog group showing the beneficial work done by human/therapy dog teams. Folks are encouraged to bring their dogs from 11-1 for a free evaluation of their dog as a potential therapy dog candidate. Therapy dogs work with their volunteer human partners at elementary school reading programs, nursing homes, hospitals, and homes for the disabled.
In addition, information about Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Hope for Heroes, Jack Russell Rescue and the police K-9 unit will be available.
Dr. Gearhart’s staff will be conducting cat training demonstrations. There will be a “kiddy corner” with activities for children, including drawing their own pets.
